As soon I saw the promos of this new TV show “shaadi 3 crore ki “,I knew NDTV Imagine is back with a bang with all the masalas and tadkas. 🙂
After Rakhi sawant’s and Rahul mahajan’s swayamvar,It’s the turn of Sheenu and Ishu to get tied in a knot on national television. Which channel other than NDTV Imagine has the guts and the experience to air such shows. Seems like NDTV Imagine is turning out to be a marriage bureau. .The previous two shows Rakhi sawant and Rahul mahajan ka swayamvar,,though highly controversial were extremely popular among the masses and took the channel’s TRP to a new high. They are back with their new business venture,”shaadi 3 crore ki” which they feel will raise their TRP’s once again. I call this as a business venture because it’s a game of the TRP’s.Invest 3 crores in a show and get much more than that in return.
This show replaces the show “Zor ka jhatka” and what a replacement it is turning out to be and,it is giving the TRP’s a “Zor ka jhatka” with the immense popularity it is gaining. Choosing a middle class punjabi family is just been the icing on the cake that the channel had desired for. They straightaway knew it’s going to be a huge hit among the audience. Though the two families involved are from middle class, still a big fat Indian wedding it is surely going to be.
Now lets turn our focus on the protagonists. Guy’s name is Inderpal(aka Ishu) and girl’s name is Jasmeet(aka sheenu).What a dream come true it is going to be for them. They are marrying on national television in such a lavish way with millions of viewers watching them. Now how is everything else going on!!The amount of 3 crores has been divided in two equal halves, 1.5 crores each for both the families. The budget has been divided in a systematic way with each section like jewellary, clothes, dance, and arrangements being given its appropriate share.
What the channel is trying to do is to turn it into a bollywood masala movie having its share of masala moments. The two families are shopping in big malls and shops where they wouldn’t have been before..
The whole matter is spicing up with the bride and groom’s relatives and family members indulging in heated arguments while trying to divide the amount equally among all the members.
This marriage of Sheenu and Ishu has certainly raised a serious issue. Is this whole wedding a glam or a sham!?The people have to decide. Channel walla’s can go up to any extent to raise the TRP’s and make their show a huge success. Everything here is scripted..Yeh television ki duniya hai 🙂 , yahan kuch bhe ho sakta hai!!
What happened at the sagan ceremony is not hidden from anyone. Artificial rain was used just to spice up things and it was presented in such a way as if it actually took place. Rain played spoil sport to the function that was planned to take place in a lawn and it ended up taking place indoors. What I am trying to point out is that everything is scripted and planned by the director and the script writer .A bollywood type filmy romance is being created where the soon to be married couple are exchanging romantic messages.Everything that is being shown is far from real.
So much wastage of money just for the purpose of raising TRP’s. There is open display of Dowry. The girl’s family has been assigned a fixed budget to spend on clothes and jewellery that they need to give to the boy’s family as dowry and same is the case with the boy’s family. This amount of 3 crores could have easily been spent on poor people’s marriage. One shaadi in 3 crores could have easily been 100 poor couples shaadi’s in 3 crores. People spend time and work hard to earn money but here free money is being earned with no hard work except for the fake fame.
The viewer chooses programmes, not channels. Or else NDTV Imagine, not among the top rankers, would never have attracted the viewership it did for Rakhi Ka Swayamvar . I don’t know why that the people of India are blessing channels with TRP’s for a lifetime. Though the show may be highly engrossing and intriguing, but let us ask ourselves that what exactly is it trying to promote? It’s just that every Channel today has adopted the slogan “Entertainment ke liyae kuch bhe karaega.Shaadi 3 crore ki kya,10 crore ki bhe karaega.”
